In
order to improve its service on providing reliable and timely
data to users, the Central Statistics Agency of Ethiopia has prepared
a strategic plan document in April 2005. This strategic plan document
tried to investigate the Agency’s strengths and weaknesses
in a very transparent fashion. It includes a section analyzing
the legal power given to the CSA and the activities that has not
been accomplished by the CSA due to various reasons. It also proposes
different options to be considered to improve its weakness and
become a model of statistical agency. In addition, it contains
the time frame for various activities to be performed in the next
five years as well as their financial and manpower requirements.
